Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls NP, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Murchison falls National Park is found in the north western region near the town of Masindi. After breakfast at the hotel, pick up by our professional guide and have a briefing about the 5 days tour as you kick start the journey to the park.
Have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, a one-hour trek of the southern white rhinoceros, then lunch at Kabalega dinners. Proceed to the Murchison falls n/park where you will have a sleep over.
Day 2: Boat cruise and hiking to top of the falls
Have early breakfast as you prepare for the early morning boat cruise on the Nile, have a chance to glimpse at amazing wildlife such as the crocodiles, Hippos, elephants and numerous bird species such as the shoe bill stock, Abyssinian ground horn bill, African fish eagles, among others.
The reward of this cruise will be a view of the mighty Murchison falls, as you witness the Nile pass through a 7m Gorge. Proceed with a sweaty hike to the top of Murchison falls, where a breathtaking view of both Uhuru falls and Murchison falls will be enjoyed. Return to the lodge for a rest.
Day 3: Drive to Kibale national park, visit Bigodi wetland sanctuary
Have breakfast and hit the road to south western based Kibale national park, it’s located between Kamwenge and Fortportal districts, and so you will be moving south from Murchison falls. Have an enroute lunch in Hoima town and continue to Kibale forest for chills as you wait for the evening to come.
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and visit Bigodi wetland sanctuary
Tracking of the chimpanzees in Kibale national park requires one to possess a chimpanzee trekking permit. After breakfast at the lodge, walk to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the dos and don’ts while tracking a habituated family of chimpanzees. The park has a number of 1500 chimps that you will experience as you see them feed, play and swing between tree branches.
After this activity, return to the lodge for lunch and later visit the Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a nature walk and birding experience. The wetland sanctuary has numerous bird species such as the great blue turaco, weavers, waxbills, Flycatchers, and hornbills among others.
After this bird watching experience, head to Kibale national park for supper and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Return back to Kampala
This day will mark the climax of a wonderful 5 days tour to Kibale forest and Murchison falls national park. After a delicious breakfast at the lodge, embark on a journey back to Kampala, for departure to your next destination.
