This is an all-inclusive safari, that starts in Entebbe and proceeds to the less visited eastern region to visit the scenic Sipi falls and Kidepo valley national park. The safari continues to the mesmerizing Murchison falls national park, Hoima, Primate capital – Kibale Forest and Bwindi for gorilla trekking.
Day 1: Transfer to Sipi Falls
Wake up early for breakfast as you prepare for a transfer to Sipi falls. Drive to eastern region of Uganda in the district of Kapchorwa where several series of water falls are found.
On arrival, have lunch and head for a hike to the top of these roaring waterfalls. The hike awards one with a spectacular view of the karamoja plains, lake Kyoga and rugged slopes of Mount Elgon.
The hike will start from the most top waterfall descending to the bottom waterfalls. Later on head to the hotel for a rest.
Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo valley N/Park
After breakfast embark on the journey to the virgin land of Kidepo. Have a enroute drive through Pian Upe wildlife reserve which is the second largest game reserve in Uganda.
Have a visit to this area in view of species for example Uganda Kob, Bohor, baboons, hyenas, leopards, waterbucks, wildcats, Ostriches and many more. Later on proceed to Kidepo valley national park where you will have a rest and dinner.
Day 3: Game drive in Narus and Kidepo valley
Have a sumptuous breakfast and set off for a drive in the Narus valley for wildlife viewing; resident mammals here include giraffes, massive herds of buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, zebras, Elephants and many more. Have lunch and head for another game drive in the Kidepo valley for scenic views and more game viewing.
Day 4: Drive to Murchison falls N/Park
After a delicious breakfast the lodge, check out and embark on the journey to Murchison falls national park in North-western region. Have an enroute lunch in Gulu town where you will continue your journey to the park.
Day 5: Murchison falls N/park: Game drive and boat cruise
Wake up early for breakfast as you prepare for the morning game drive in Murchison falls national park. On this drive you will witness the beautiful wildlife such as giraffes, elephants, antelopes, birds and buffaloes etc.
After lunch, head for an evening boat cruise along Victoria Nile. On this launch you will enjoy sightings of huge hippos, crocodiles, witness beautiful wildlife as they drink from the fresh waters of the Nile. Also have a rewarding view of the thunderous Murchison falls. You will also hike to the top of the falls for a magnificent view of both Uhuru and Murchison falls. Later on, return to lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Hoima
As you still reminisce of the Nile cruise, have breakfast and set off to Hoima town for another exciting cultural and historical adventure. Take a visit to Kibiro salt gardens on the outskirts of Hoima town and witness traditional salt mining and processing as you interact with the locals around the place.
Day 7: Leave Hoima to Kibale national park
After breakfast at the lodge, get ready for another journey to Kibale national park. You will be driving south wards from Hoima. Arrive at the park in time for lunch and rest as you glance at the beautiful vegetation till evening.
Day 8: Kibale national park: Chimpanzee tracking
Kibale national park is said to be home to over 1000 chimpanzee individuals. Wake up for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing about one’s conduct during the tracking of these primates.
You will be led by an expert guide who will take you to the location of chimps. Experience their livelihoods as they play, feed of forest fruits, fight or watch them sleep in their green nests. Later on, return to the lodge for a rest.
Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Have breakfast, check out the lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, arrival early for lunch and after rest at the lodge till evening as you wait for dinner and an overnight.
Day 10: Game drive and boat cruise
After breakfast at the lodge, prepare for a morning game drive through the park. On this drive experience wonderful game such as the African elephants, giant forest hog, African buffaloes, lions, antelopes and several bird species, among others.
After lunch get ready for a cruise on the Kazinga channel with abundant mammals the nile crocodiles, schools of hippos and numerous bird species.
Day 11: Game drive and travel to Bwindi national park
This will mark our last day in Queen Elizabeth national with a game drive in the Ishasha sector for the tree climbing lions. This drive will lead us out the park to Rushaga sector, the southern sector of Bwindi where you will have a warm dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 12: Gorilla tracking
Rise up early for breakfast, hike to the park headquarters for a briefing about the do’s and don’ts while tracking the gorillas. Rushaga sector has five gorilla families that include, Bweza, Mishaya, Kahungye, Busingye and Nshongi. Spend one hour with the gorilla family found as you witness them playing, wrestling, feeding and nurturing each other. You will be allowed to take pictures or videos to keep all the beautiful jungle memories. Later on, return to the lodge.
Day 13: Transfer to Mgahinga national park
Wake up early for another adventurous journey to the land where gold meets sliver. This park is found in Kisoro district and it’s not far from Bwindi. Arrive at the park in time and after lunch head for Batwa experience.
Have a cultural experience with the Batwa people and get to know their way of life, they will showcase their traditional and beliefs through the folk songs and dances, crafting, hunting skills and their cultural background, after head back to lodge.
Day 14: Golden monkey trekking
Have another primate experience in Mgahinga national park. Have a delicious breakfast at the lodge as you get ready for the ultimate primate experience. The trek starts at 8:00 am and spend less than 4 hours tracking these beauties in the jungle.
Watch how these species feed on the leaves, shoots and the jungle produce, also witness them as they swing from tree to tree. After this exposure, return to the lodge for relaxation till evening.
Day 15: Golden monkey trekking
Wake up for another exploration in Mgahinga national park, after breakfast have a primate experience as you trek golden monkeys in the park. This activity begins at 8: 00am after a briefing at the park’s headquarters about ones conduct during the trek.
Once a primate family is met, spend one hour of photography and observing the behavior of the golden monkeys. After, return to the lodge for a rest till evening.
Day 15: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Sunset canoeing experience
After a cup of tea at the lodge, check out and head start the journey to lake Bunyonyi. It is the deepest lake in Uganda and get ready to have a canoeing experience on the lake as you get to visit at see the 29 dotted islands on this lake.
Tour with a guide who will avail the historical information of these islands; for example, the punishment island where young girls who got pregnant before marriage were abandoned. A night will be spent on the shores of this beautiful lake.
Day 16: High rope adventure at L. Bunyonyi
Wake up to the morning breeze from the lake as you prepare for an adventurous activity in the area. This activity you dare you to push yourself to complete all the levels of the high ropes as each level gets more intense but at the same time fun. After this activity return for lunch and relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight.
Day 17: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
Make a farewell to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi and travel to Lake Mburo n/park via Mbarara-Ntungamo – Kabale highway. On this drive, experience the beautiful scenic views of Kigezi hills and sweeping terrain of Ntungamo.
Arrive in time for lunch and head for a boat cruise to cool off at Lake Mburo.
Day 18: Game drive and depart to Kampala
Wake up early for a morning game drive in the park, this drive will expose you to a profusion of unique mammal species like Zebras, Topis, impalas, waterbucks, buffaloes, hyenas among others. After this wildlife exposure, have lunch, check out of the lodge and make a journey back to Kampala.
Day 19: Kampala city walk
After breakfast set off for a thrilling walk in the city that never sleeps. Visit historical places like the Gadaffi mosque, Namirembe cathedral, the Uganda museum and the African crafts village to purchase souvenirs.
Day 20: departure
This will be the end of your 20 days luxury trip around Uganda; after breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Entebbe international airport for departure to your nest destination.
