Day 1: Pick up and city Tour
Our company representative will meet you at either the airport or hotel in Kampala, brief you about the entire trip and the laws, as well as respond to your questions. Thereafter, you will share a glass of juice, before having a city tour in Kampala; visiting the Museum, local markets, and the Namugongo martyrs shrine.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls national park – Rhino tracking
Early morning, the driver guide will pick you up for an amazing 5-6 hours’ drive to Murchison falls national park; home to the most powerful waterfalls in the world. The drive is through a tarmac and maram road, with buzzing towns and amazing sceneries. You will have a one-hour en-route stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track the few surviving rhinos in the wild; the only existing ones in the country.
Thereafter, you will proceed for lunch, before arriving into your lodge late in the evening for dinner and a nap.
Day 3: Morning Game drive and evening Boat cruise
After breakfast, you will head to the northern sector of the park for an amazing 3-4 hours’ game drive across the gifted savannah grasslands, with buffaloes, elephants, zebras, warthogs, giraffes, and several antelope species grazing, whereas the chance of spotting the leopards and lions are rare; Birds such as the crested cranes, lovebirds, and the sought after shoebill stock soar the sky, and primates such as baboons and monkeys relax at the shadows of the rare tree species.
You will follow the game drive with lunch, before an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the thundering Murchison falls as it squeezes itself via a 7mtr gauge, pouring water to the Nile River flowing slowly into Lake Albert. You will be taken to a point where the sight of the most powerful waterfalls on earth is at a close range. Also, you will watch several residents here such as the hippos, Nile crocodiles, birds, mammals, and amazing landscapes. You will enjoy the last meal of the day and a night of peaceful sleep.
Day 4: Top of the crater hike to Kibale forest
Brighten your day with a lovely cup of coffee, before hiking to the top of Murchison falls where for 1-2 hours, you will take photos, enjoy the magnificent view of the water bubbling waters, listen to the thundering sound, cross the devil’s cauldron, and then spot the fascinating rainbow.
Thereafter, you will join your driver-guide for a scenic drive to the primate wild; Kibale forest; home to over 13 unique primate species. The drive is smooth with plenty to look out for and an amazing stopover for Lunch, before late evening arrival at the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking – Bigodi swamp walk
After morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for a rewarding chimp tracking. Research shows that chimpanzees are humans’ closest relatives, sharing over 98% DNA and similar characteristics and a very captivating appearance. After a 30-50 minutes’ briefing, the park rangers will accompany you to the Jungle, for a track that might last for about 1-6 hours, plus one extra hour for viewing these cousins play, relax, or even pose for the camera.
After meeting your cousins, You will enjoy an amazing Lunch meal before visiting one of the most gifted Ramser sites in the country; Bigodi forest. You will enjoy the sites of birds, and other primates such as baboons and monkeys among others, but not forgetting the locals carrying on with their chores. The day is concluded with dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Kigali – Rwanda
After breakfast, you will depart the lodge for an 8-9 hours’ drive to Kigali Rwanda via the scenic Katuna border post. This drive is generally amazing, with plenty to look out for, as well as a lovely lunch hour stopover. Water bodies, rolling hills and plantations among others are perfectly displayed in the adventure
Day 7: Kigali City tour and transfer to Volcanoes N/park
You will brighten your morning with a splendid breakfast meal, followed by a rewarding city tour through the beautiful streets of Kigali. The amazing views of the magnificent buildings are amazing as you head to the local markets to learn of the trade and bargain mentality of the locals, purchase a few souvenirs, and those items you need for the trip.
Thereafter, you will head for lunch, followed by a visit to the historical genocide memorial site; a place where over 250000 people were buried after the ethnic conflict between the Hutu and Tutsi. A 2-3 hour drive to Volcanoes national park then starts, traversing the undulating hills, and several magnificent breathtaking sceneries, before late arrival at the lodge for dinner and a nap.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking and Twin Lakes
You will start this day with an energy-giving early morning breakfast meal, followed by a drive to Volcanoes national park headquarters for registration and pre-trekking briefing by a very knowledgeable expert gorilla park ranger who will explain the dos and don’ts of Gorilla trekking, and allocation to the different gorilla families of your choice.
Gorilla trekking lasts for about 1-6 hours depending on the direction the creatures have taken, as well as one’s trekking speed. It also comes with plenty of surprises such as encountering other primates such as the Columbus monkeys; birds and unique tree species.
Upon locating these gentle Apes, you are given an hour allowance to closely study the uniqueness of the apes, their body structure, feeding ways, and social life among others. Thereafter, lunch follows, before spending the rest of the evening relaxed at the beautiful shorelines of the Twin Lakes, with an option of canoeing. You will afterward retire at the lodge with a splendid dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 9: Drive to Virunga national park – D.R. Congo
Today, you will have a mouth-watering breakfast meal, followed by a scenic drive to Virunga national park in the democratic republic of Congo. This smooth drive gives you an amazing view of undulating hills, plantations and scattered homesteads. The drive lasts for about 5-6 hours with an enroute stopover at Lake Kivu, the largest freshwater lake in Rwanda.
You will have a canoeing experience, before proceeding to Congo Via the magnificent Rwanda-Congo border post where you will attain some documents and several other information you need. You will arrive at the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 10: Ascend to Mount Nyiragongo
After breakfast, you will depart the lodge for a rewarding 5-6 hours’ hike to the blazing summit of one of the most active volcanoes in the world. The hike commences at approximately 10:00 am at the trailhead with registration, briefing, and getting of the porters to carry some of your luggage or offer support. The mountain base is decorated with lush forest vegetation, plantations, and scattered, and the hike gives one an amazing view of numerous birds, reptiles, and primates relaxed at the territory.
The hike is a bit hectic though very possible, Lunch en-route, and successful arrival at the peak offers an amazing view of the blazing crater; one of the most active in the world, with the most recent eruption occurring in 2012. Upon arrival at the peak, you will take photos; enjoy the breathtaking views, and watching the surrounding hills, Virunga Mountains, and many more. The day ends at the camp with dinner and a calm slumber.
Day 11: Descend Mount Nyiragongo and Lake Kivu exploration
Wake up to the views of a web-like magma that make up the top most peak of Nyiragongo, have breakfast at the mountain shelters and off you begin the descent down the mountain. This takes about 4 hours according to the speed of trekkers.
Upon arriving at Kibati patrol post, you have choices to make; either to go for leisure experience at Lake Kivu or just continue to Kigali and have a hotel rest.
Day 12: Departure
At sunrise, you will wake up for a mouth-watering breakfast meal, before exiting the lodge for a drive to either your hotel or the airport at Kigali – Rwanda. The drive lasts for approximately 5-6 hours with a lunch stopover.
